Getting Started 3<br />

Setting the default point name<br />

To change the default point name, press [HOT] to<br />

display the HOT menu. Then press [5], or select<br />

Default PT and press [ENT].<br />

This function is available from any observation<br />

screen.<br />

Modify the default point name for the next record.<br />

Press [ENT] to confirm the new default point name.<br />

The new point name is appears as the default PT<br />

name on the input screen.<br />

Bubble indicator 30.3<br />

The bubble indicator is automatically displayed if the instrument goes out of level<br />

while the compensators are turned on.<br />

To display the bubble indicator in an observation screen, press .<br />

The <strong>NPL</strong>-362/<strong>352</strong> has two-axis level<br />

compensation. To turn the leveling compensators<br />

on or off, press []. When the leveling<br />

compensators are turned off, the text OFF appears<br />

on the screen.<br />

If the instrument is more than ±3'30" out of level,<br />

the text OVER appears on the screen.<br />

To return to the observation screen, press [ESC] or<br />

[ENT] .<br />

The <strong>NPL</strong>-332 has vertical axis adjustment only.<br />

To turn the leveling compensators on or off, press<br />

[].<br />

The current setting of leveling compensators is indicated by header characters (:, #,<br />

:, and #) after field labels (such as HA, VA, SD, and HD) in observation screens. For<br />

more information, see Header characters, page 40.<br />
