Alena Šamonilová (1977, Písek) has graduated from Faculty of Arts at Charles University, specialist subject: Macedonian
– Slovenian studies. Since 2001 she has been living in Brno, where working at an private company dealing with the
education. In leisure time she attends herself to translation from both commercial and literary sphere.
Pavel Šaradín (1969)
Od roku 1998 přednáší na katedře politologie a evropských studií Filosofické fakulty v Olomouci,
zejména současnou českou a středoevropskou politiku. Je autorem několika knih, poslední
se zabývá Evropskými volbami v České republice (2004). Uspořádal také sborník Desetiletí
(2003), který mapuje deset let samostatné České republiky. Jeho texty vyšly ve Španělsku,
Polsku, Slovinsku a na Slovensku. Spolupracuje s několika novinovými tituly (Hospodářské noviny)
i kulturně-politickými časopisy (Listy).
Since 1998 he has taught at the Department of Political Sciences and European Studies at the Faculty of Liberal Arts
in Olomouc, specializing in Czech and Central European politics. He is the author of five books, the latest one dealing
with the European elections in the Czech Republic. He has edited Desetnica, a book dedicated to the ten years of Czech
independence. His texts have been published in Spain, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia. He is also a contributor to certain
Czech newspapers (Hospodářské noviny) and magazines (Listy).
Urban Vovk (1971)
Narodil se v Kranju. Píše literární kritiky a eseje, překládá ze srbochorvačtiny. Roku 2002 debutoval
s knihou kritických esejů V teku časa (V toku času). Ve stejném roce získal Stritarjevovu
cenu Svazu slovinských spisovatelů za nejslibnější kritiku. Kromě toho připravil a komentářem
doplnil jednu ze současných antologií mladé slovinské poezie. Je šéfredaktorem měsíčníku
Literatura, pro který také rediguje knižní sbírku Prišleki (Přistěhovalci), věnoval ji slovinské
literatuře.
Born in Kranj. He writes literary reviews and essays and translates from Serbo-Croatian. In 2002 his first book of critical
essays was published, V teku časa (In the Course of Time). In the same year he received the Stritar Prize, awarded
by the Slovenian Writers’ Association for the most promising critic. He has compiled, and accompanied with a text, one of
the anthologies of contemporary young Slovenian poetry. He is the editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine Literatura, for
which he also edits Prišleki (Newcomers), the book collection dedicated to Slovenian literature.
