Rozinteater*: Another Fairytale
Another Fairytale is a street performance that uses
generally familiar mythology and recognizable geographical
traits of Slovenia to speak, in a seemingly farcical manner,
about the time when the world transited from one
economic system/social order into another. This fairytale
about the transition, rich in communicative content and visually
refined, has been written and is performed in Czech.
It is played in Czech (and simultaneously translated)
also in Slovenia, where it forms, together with the introductory
lecture on “Making the Most Important Facts Uniform,”
a theatrical whole that aims to problematize the current
situation in Slovenian culture.
Appearing: Andrej Rozman, Barbara Bulatović and
Goran Završnik. Costume and set design: Marija Mojca
Pungerčar.
Rozinteater* (Roza’s theater) is a miniature theater
founded by Andrej Rozman Roza in March 2003 with the
objective of updating Slovenian mythology and preserving
Slovenian culture, no matter how dire the situation. Andrej
Rozman Roza appears himself or with small casts in his
own satirical variety shows for children and adults. His
shows for adults include: Cabaret Symplosium, The Genetically
Modified Prešeren, Martin Krpan Oh Three. Rozinteater*
14, Ljubljana.
