Table T.8 summarizes the technical reduction options identified for the Base
Metals Smelting Sector for 2008 and 2015. Also included in the table are the
capital costs as estimated by Hatch Associates and a range of potential reduction
for toxics, total particulate matter (TPM) and sulphur dioxide (SO 2 ) in percentage
terms from the 1988 levels. The value in brackets after the potential reduction
range indicates the value assumed by Hatch Associates for the purposes of
predicting future releases.
