Born in Carpatho-Ruthenia in 1928<br />

Member of “Hashomer Hatzair”<br />

Braha arrived in Budapest in 1942 <strong>and</strong> joined the already outlawed<br />

“Hashomer Hatzair” movement. After the German invasion of Hungary on<br />

19.3.1944, she equipped herself with <strong>for</strong>ged Aryan documents <strong>and</strong> went<br />

underground. She was a liaison person among the members of the<br />

movement, passed on in<strong>for</strong>mation about meetings <strong>and</strong> mainly about the<br />

departure of the tiyul. After the Arrow Cross Party <strong>for</strong>med the government<br />

on 15.10.1944, together with two of her friends who were her roommates,<br />

Braha safeguarded six suitcases, that contained the equipment of the<br />

<strong>for</strong>gery workshop, brought to them by David Gur. In 1945, after the<br />

liberation, Braha emigrated to France <strong>and</strong> studied at university in Paris.<br />

Braha had a tragic death.<br />

Horn Yehuda<br />

Born in Budapest on 14.7.1926<br />

Died on 3.4.2000 in Israel<br />

Member of “Hanoar Hatzioni”<br />

On 19.3.1944, when the Germans invaded Hungary, Yehuda was<br />

studying in the Rabbinical Seminary which the Hungarian police turned<br />

into a prisoners’ camp. The students were <strong>for</strong>ced to work in the camp.<br />

Yehuda Horn made contact with the prisoners, passed on in<strong>for</strong>mation to<br />

their relatives <strong>and</strong> to various authorities <strong>and</strong> revealed their location. Many<br />

detainees managed to escape thanks to this in<strong>for</strong>mation. Horn himself<br />

served in a <strong>for</strong>ced labor unit, escaped <strong>and</strong> returned to Budapest.<br />

Yehuda made aliya in the 60’s. He worked as an architect <strong>and</strong> resides in<br />

Jerusalem.<br />
