On 20.4.1944 Asher was deported to Auschwitz.
After the liberation he returned to Budapest and was chosen as a
member of the movement’s central committee and sent to the Carpatho-
Ruthenia region to work with the Jewish youths, bring them to Budapest
and prepare them for aliya. In Budapest he trained olim, organized a
seminar in Yiddish and was also one of the lecturers.
On 9.7.1945 Asher made aliya with his family on the “Exodus” ship. He
lived for a short period of time on a kibbutz but later became one of the
founders of Moshav Omer.
Asher wrote a book: “Aviv Aharon” (The Last Spring) about Máramaros
Jewry.
Einhorn Menahem

Died on 20.11.2000 in Israel
Member of “Dror Habonim”
In February-March 1944 Menahem dug bunkers in the Máramaros
district with the “Dror Habonim” group.
He made aliya and died in Israel.
Eisenberg Hava (Weisz)
Gábor Éva
Born in Békéscsaba on 25.10.1923
Member of “Hanoar Hatzioni”
Hava joined the movement in 1943. In 1944 she was released from a
forced labor camp and arrived in Budapest. Together with Mordehai
Weisz she distributed Protection Documents, found locations for bunkers
and was sent on various missions on behalf of the underground. Hava
was liberated while staying in the “Glass House” and married Mordehai
Weisz.
She made aliya in 1947. Hava worked with the Committee for Atomic
Energy in Nahal Sorek and in the Israeli Embassy in Washington. She
resides in Herzliya.
