Rosenberg Moshe<br />

Born in Csenger on 26.11.1889<br />

Died on 14.6.1972 in Israel<br />

Member of the “Gordon Circle”<br />

Moshe was the manager of Keren Hayesod <strong>and</strong> comm<strong>and</strong>er of the<br />

“Hagana Headquarters” of the Zionist youth movements. Within the<br />

framework of the Jewish Council in Budapest he worked in the<br />

department of country towns (Vidéki-Osztály) to where he sent<br />

emissaries (Efra Agmon, Efra Nadav) in order to help the isolated ghettos<br />

with Aryan documents, money <strong>and</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation. Moshe was a member of<br />

the Relief <strong>and</strong> <strong>Rescue</strong> Committee. He got on the train to Bergen-Belsen.<br />

He made aliya via Switzerl<strong>and</strong>. In Israel he was the owner of the<br />

engineering company “Rosenberg & Luriya” in Ramat-Gan.<br />

Rosenberg Saul ‘Sheli”<br />

Born in Kassa (Košice) in 1924<br />

Member of “Bnei Akiva”<br />

In 1944 Saul operated together with Menahem Tzvi Kadari in the<br />

framework of the tiyul. He himself crossed the border <strong>and</strong> arrived in Eretz<br />

Israel (Palestine) in 1944. He served in the independent Czech army.<br />

Saul resides in the USA.<br />

Rosenberger Raphael<br />

Rosenberger Rezső<br />

Born in Meggyeshegy (Mediaş-Vii), Romania on<br />

14.5.1922 Died in Israel in 1986<br />

Member of “Hanoar Hatzioni”<br />

Raphael was a member of the movement from childhood. He was a<br />

prominent activist in the Zionist underground in Romania <strong>and</strong> a member<br />

of the central council of “Hanoar Hatzioni”. In the summer of 1944<br />

Raphael operated in Arad, a border town on the Romanian side of the<br />

border where he met <strong>and</strong> took care of the Jewish refugees who crossed<br />

the border from Hungary. Raphael himself crossed the border into<br />

Hungary many times in order to organize the smuggling of Jews. He<br />

helped the refugees to reach the city so they would not fall into the<br />

<strong>Brothers</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Resistance</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Rescue</strong> 203
