After the war he made aliya. He lives in Jerusalem. Eli’s wife, Iluci (born<br />
in Bratislava in 1922), accompanied him <strong>and</strong> cooperated with him in all<br />
his underground activities.<br />

Member of “Dror Habonim”<br />
Lea was active in “Dror Habonim” from 1943. She was sent to the <strong>for</strong>ced<br />
labor camps where members of the movement were serving <strong>and</strong> brought<br />
them <strong>for</strong>ged documents in order to help them escape. She did this <strong>for</strong><br />
about two <strong>and</strong> a half months until she was caught, sent to the ghetto <strong>and</strong><br />
deported to Auschwitz.<br />
After the liberation Lea made aliya <strong>and</strong> is a member of Kibbutz Parod.<br />
Dr. Cohen Nissan<br />

Member of “Hatzionim Haclali’im”<br />
Nissan was a lawyer. He devoted most of his time to Zionist activities. He<br />
was one of the founders of the student unions “Ivriya” <strong>and</strong> “Maccabea”<br />
<strong>and</strong> later of various aid organizations <strong>for</strong> refugees who arrived in<br />
Hungary. In 1941 he engaged in helping deportees from Kamenec<br />
Podolsk who did not have Hungarian citizenship. After the Germans<br />
invaded Hungary in March 1944, Nissan was a member of the Jewish<br />
Council in Budapest. He was in favour of rescue operations in the country<br />
towns with the help of the Zionist youth movements. Nissan was a<br />
delegate <strong>for</strong> his movement in Zionist congresses. He left Hungary on the<br />
train of the Relief <strong>and</strong> <strong>Rescue</strong> Committee <strong>and</strong> arrived in Eretz Israel<br />
(Palestine) in 1945. He worked in the legal department of the Keren<br />
Kayemet LeIsrael.<br />

Died on 13.3.1993 in Israel<br />
Member of “Maccabi Hatzair”<br />
Shlomo helped obtain documents, food <strong>and</strong> money <strong>for</strong> the refugees from<br />
Slovakia. In 1943 he was drafted to a <strong>for</strong>ced labor camp from which he<br />
escaped in July 1944. Shlomo arrived at the “Glass House” on 29,<br />
<strong>Brothers</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Resistance</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Rescue</strong> 71
