In Budapest Moshe studied in a high school affiliated with the Rabbinical
Seminar. After the German invasion of Hungary on 19.3.1944, he was
allowed to walk freely in the streets of Budapest thanks to his father who
fought in the First World War as an outstanding officer in the Hungarian
Army. Moshe took advantage of the situation to collect information,
deliver messages and to contact the Jews who were living in Yellow Star
Houses. He worked in the “Glass House” on Vadász Street distributing
documents and hiding weapons.
Moshe was liberated in January 1945 and made aliya in 1948.
Moshe was a member of Kibbutz Kfar Glücksohn where he worked as a
teacher and the principal of the nearby school.

Adonyahu studied at a Seminar of Rabbanim in Budapest and was a
member of the student union “Maccabea”. In June 1944 he joined the
movement’s underground activities under the fictitious name of Dunka
László. Adonyahu went to Debrecen in order to take his family to
Budapest since it was easier to hide in the capital city. . However, except
for one of his sisters, his family did not want to leave Debrecen.
