James Brindley, S, 5-11, 191, Rookie, Utah State (Grass Valley, Calif.)<br />

Signed by Seattle as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 24, <strong>2010</strong>. Played<br />

four years at Utah State, starting his final two seasons, totaling 259 tackles. Left<br />

school as Utah State’s career leader with 210 interception return yards on nine<br />

career picks. Attended Nevada Union High and was a second-team all-state<br />

selection by Calhisports.com and second-team all-Norcal honors. Was a firstteam<br />

all-section and all-Sacramento honoree. Named the Metro Conference<br />

Defensive Most Valuable Player and tabbed as his team's MVP. Recorded 95<br />

tackles with three interceptions, two sacks and two fumble recoveries as a senior.<br />

Offensively, he had 22 rushes for 160 yards and two touchdowns and 10<br />

receptions for 189 yards and a score. Also competed in basketball and track. Majored in business<br />

finance with a minor in entrepreneurship. Born on February 1, 1988, at Beale Air Force Base<br />

in California.<br />

Marcus Brown, CB, 6-1, 190, Rookie, Arkansas State (Marianna, Ark.)<br />

Signed by Seattle as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 24, <strong>2010</strong>. He finished<br />

his career at Arkansas State with 123 tackles and nine pass breakups, and<br />

recorded 50 tackles, five pass breakups and one forced fumble during the 2009<br />

season. He had one interception and returned a fumble 71 yards for a touchdown<br />

against Louisiana-Monroe during the 2008 season, the second-longest in<br />

Red Wolves history. Played quarterback as a junior at Lee High. Rated as the<br />

sixth-best recruit in the state by SuperPrep magazine. As a senior, tallied 16<br />

total touchdowns while splitting time as receiver, quarterback and running<br />

back. Had 720 yards rushing, 630 yards receiving and 300 yards passing and 12<br />

sacks on defense. Rushed for over 900 yards and scored 17 touchdowns as a junior. Also competed<br />

in track. Born on January 27, 1987.<br />

Jeff Byers, C/G, 6-3, 301, Rookie, USC (Fort Collins, Colo.)<br />

Signed by Seattle as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 24, <strong>2010</strong>. Started<br />

three seasons at left guard for USC, his final season while working on his M.B.A.<br />

He was granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA because he missed 2005<br />

and 2006 with injuries. Was an All-Pac-10 second-team pick his junior season,<br />

2004 The Sporting News Freshman All-American second-team pick and The<br />

Sporting News Freshman All-Pac-10 first-team pick. At Loveland High, among<br />

his 2003 honors were Gatorade National Player of the Year, EA Sports National<br />

Player of the Year, Army of One Award (for effort on the field, class and community),<br />

USA Today All-USA first team, Parade All-American MVP, Super Prep All-<br />

American, Prep Star All-American, EA Sports All-American, Insiders.com All-American, Super<br />

Prep Elite 50, Prep Star Top 100 Dream Team, Tom Lemming Top 100, Super Prep All-Midlands,<br />

Prep-Star All-Midlands, Long Beach Press-Telegram Best in the West first team, Orange County<br />

Register Fab 15 first team and Gatorade Colorado Player of the Year as a senior center and linebacker.<br />

Also competed in basketball and track. Born on September 7, 1985.<br />

Kevin Ellison, S, 6-1, 221, 2nd Year, USC (Redondo Beach, Calif.)<br />

Claimed off waivers (San Diego) by Seattle on June 22, <strong>2010</strong>. Originally a sixthround<br />

pick (189th overall) by the San Diego Chargers in the 2009 NFL Draft.<br />

Ellison played in 13 games with nine starts as a rookie, including starting one<br />

postseason contest (posting one assisted tackle). He collected 50 tackles (41<br />

solo), one sack and three passes defensed as a rookie. He tallied a career-high<br />

10 tackles (seven solo) at the New York Giants (11/8/09) and had his first career<br />

sack vs. Cincinnati (12/20/09). He also recorded two special teams tackles in<br />

2009. A four-year letterwinner at USC, he was a unanimous first-team All-Pac-<br />

10 choice his senior year, while also serving as team captain. Earned All-<br />

Freshman honors from The Sporting News in 2005. Earned numerous honors as a running back<br />

and linebacker at Redondo Beach High. Set school-record with 322-yard game and finished<br />

career with 3,718 rushing yards. Comes from an athletic family; brother, Keith, currently plays<br />

linebacker for the Buffalo Bills, and other brother, Chris, played defensive back at BYU in the late<br />

1990s. His cousin, Dominic Ellison, played basketball at Washington State and New Mexico.<br />

Majored in economics and social science. Born on January 8, 1987.<br />
