The Seahawks fell behind early and could not catch up to the Texans and their potent passing attack dropping
the game 34-7 to the Texans. The Texans made a statement on the first play from scrimmage when
Matt Schaub connected with Andre Johnson streaking down the sideline for a 64-yard touchdown 16 seconds
into the game. Forcing the Seahawks to three-and-out on first three possessions, the Texans capitalized
each time building a 24-0 lead early in the second quarter. The Texans scored on a Kris Brown field
goal, a 4-yard Ryan Moats TD run and another Johnson TD reception, this from 17 yards. Seattle pieced
together a six-play, 84-yard TD drive capped by a Matt Hasselbeck to John Carlson 4-yard TD pass with 1:14
remaining in the first half to pull within 24-7. The Texans tacked on 10 second-half points behind Brown’s
second field goal and a Bernard Pollard 70-yard interception return for a touchdown. Schaub passed for
336 first-half yards while Johnson hauled in 10 passes for 184 yards in the first half. The Texans as a team
recorded 364 total yards in the first half. Seattle limited Houston to 86 total yards in the second half, but
it was too little too late for the Seahawks who could not find the end zone in the second half.
