160 2009 SEASON
GAME 11 Seattle Seahawks 27, St. Louis Rams 17
Sunday, November 29, 2009 — Edward Jones Dome
Seattle earned their first road win of the season in St. Louis as they topped the Rams 27-17. The Seahawks
used a steady rushing attack and an aggressive defense to help lead them to victory. Midway through the
first quarter, Seattle capitalized off of a failed Josh Brown field goal attempt when Justin Forsett scored
on the ensuing drive on a 3-yard run. The Rams tied the game 7-7 early in the second quarter when Kyle
Boller, starting for injured Marc Bulger, connected on a 1-yard TD pass with Donnie Avery. With St. Louis
threatening late in the first half, Kelly Jennings batted a Boller pass in the air which was picked off and
returned 65 yards by Josh Wilson for a touchdown giving the Seahawks a 14-7 lead with 1:38 remaining.
A 55-yard Brown field goal as time expired in the half pulled the Rams to within 14-10. Seattle opened up
their lead in the second half scoring on three-consecutive possessions. A second Forsett TD run sandwiched
by two Olindo Mare field goals gave Seattle a 27-10 lead in the fourth quarter. A late Steven
Jackson TD run for the Rams culminated in a 27-17 final. Forsett set career highs with 22 carries for 130
yards and two TDs while Mare tied a club record for most consecutive field goals made with 16. On
defense, Jordan Babineaux led the way with a career-high 13 tackles to go along with an interception.
