Cord Parks, CB, 5-10, 178, 2nd Year, Northeastern (Stone Mountain, Ga.)<br />

Claimed off waivers (St. Louis) by Seattle on June 16, <strong>2010</strong>. Originally signed<br />

with the St. Louis Rams as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 30, 2009 and<br />

spent the first 15 weeks of the season on the practice squad until being signed<br />

to the active roster. He played in the final two games of the season and recorded<br />

one tackle. Played three seasons at Northeastern University, starting his<br />

final two years. Posted 131 career tackles and had two interceptions and<br />

returned 21 kickoffs for 442 yards his junior season. Also ran track and finished<br />

fourth in the 110-meter hurdles at the 2007 NCAA Championships. Played four<br />

years as a defensive back and running back at Stone Mountain High, serving<br />

as team captain his junior and senior year and was named second-team all-county. Majored in<br />

mechanical engineering technology. Born on November 12, 1986.<br />

Joe Pawelek, LB, 6-2, 237, Rookie, Baylor (San Antonio, Texas)<br />

Signed by Seattle as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 24, <strong>2010</strong>. Finished<br />

career as two-time All-America and two-time Academic All-America. Four-year<br />

starter set school record with 46 career starts in 48 career games played. His<br />

422 career tackles ranks 18th in NCAA history (since 2000) and second all-time<br />

at Baylor behind Mike Singletary (662). Four-time All-Big 12 honoree.<br />

Registered 17 career games with 10-plus tackles. Led team in tackles in three of<br />

four seasons and recorded nine career interceptions (four in endzone). Former<br />

catcher on Baylor baseball squad. Prepped at Smithson Valley High. Member<br />

of 2004 Texas Football Top 300 and 2004 Waco Tribune-Herald Top 100 selection.<br />

Ranked No. 2 on San Antonio Express-News Area Top 10 and No. 40 on its State Top 50 lists.<br />

Named 2004-05 Boys High School Athlete of Year by San Antonio Express-News. Tallied 197 tackles<br />

and six fumble recoveries as senior linebacker en route to San Antonio Express-News<br />

Defensive Player of Year honors. Also lettered in baseball. Graduated in December 2009 with<br />

degree in finance and economics. Born on December 8, 1986.<br />

Jacob Phillips, T, 6-6, 301, Rookie, Belhaven (Baton Rouge, La.)<br />

Signed by Seattle as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 24, <strong>2010</strong>. Helped<br />

anchor the Belhaven offensive line in 2009 that contributed to a Blazers offense<br />

that averaged 308.8 yards per game while scoring 22.1 points per contest.<br />

Prepped at Live Oak High in Baton Rouge. Born on January 19, 1988.<br />

Josh Pinkard, CB, 6-1, 218, Rookie, USC (Oxnard, Calif.)<br />

Signed by Seattle as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 24, <strong>2010</strong>. A threeyear<br />

starter in the secondary for the Trojans. He was granted a sixth year of eligibility<br />

by the NCAA after missing the 2006 and 2007 campaigns with knee<br />

injuries. Started 31 of 51 career games played and totaled 167 tackles and five<br />

interceptions in his career. Was a second-team All-Pac-10 choice after his senior<br />

season. He was a 2003 Super Prep All-American, Super Prep All-Farwest,<br />

Prep Star All-West, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, All-CIF Southern Section<br />

first team, All-CIF Division IV and Los Angeles Times All-Ventura/North Coast<br />

pick as a senior defensive back and wide receiver at Hueneme High. He had 123<br />

tackles, two sacks and four interceptions on defense and 22 receptions for 200-plus yards with<br />

five touchdowns on offense. Also participated in basketball and track. Majored in political science.<br />

Calif.)<br />

Signed by Seattle as a free agent on April 16, <strong>2010</strong>. Originally signed as an<br />

undrafted rookie free agent by the Green Bay Packers on May 4, 2007, and<br />

spent the season on injured reserve. Has also spent time with Tampa Bay and<br />

Pittsburgh. Was a two-year letterman at USC after two years at Saddleback CC<br />

in Mission Viejo, Calif. Played in 13 games for the Trojans before a broken ankle<br />

cut short his final season. Earned Juco All-America honors as a linebacker and<br />

short-yardage back in 2003. Four-year letterman at Mission Viejo High. Earned<br />

All-CIF southern section first-team, All-CIF Division II Defensive MVP and
