GAME 6 Arizona Cardinals 27, Seattle Seahawks 3
Sunday, October 18, 2009 — Qwest Field
Looking to even their record at 3-3, the Seahawks got behind early and could not catchup to the Arizona
Cardinals at Qwest Field dropping their record to 2-4 before the bye week. The Cardinals took the opening
kickoff and marched 80 yards in 15 plays, chewing up 10:42 of the first quarter. The drive resulted in a 2-
yard Kurt Warner-to-Larry Fitzgerald touchdown pass. The Cardinals recovered a pooch kick on the ensuing
kickoff and scored three plays later on a Tim Hightower 2-yard run for a 14-0 lead retaining possession
for the first 11:53 of the game. On Seattle’s first possession, Matt Hasselbeck was sacked on the team’s second
offensive play resulting in a lost fumble. The Cardinals tacked on three points via a Neil Rackers 29-
yard field goal to take a 17-0 lead early in the second quarter. To that point, the Cardials had ran 25 plays
to the Seahawks two, and retained possession for 15:39 of the first 16:24 of the game. Seattle got on the
board for the only time of the day after a nine-play, 59-yard drive resulted in a 28-yard Olindo Mare field
goal. The biggest play of the drive came on a fake punt by Jon Ryan who completed a 42-pass to John
Carlson. The Cardinals tacked on 10 second-half points in the second half to win the game 27-3.
