Head Coach<br />

Chuck Knox was the ninth member inducted<br />

to the Ring. He spent nine of his 22 illustrious<br />

seasons at the helm of the <strong>Seahawks</strong><br />

from 1983-1991, during which time he led<br />

Seattle to 80 wins en route to becoming the<br />

winningest coach in club history. Compared<br />

to 63 losses, his winning percentage of .559<br />

is the second-best among Seattle coaches<br />

with at least eight games coached. Knox<br />

posted six winning seasons with Seattle and<br />

led the <strong>Seahawks</strong> into postseason play four<br />

times. The <strong>Seahawks</strong>’ three playoff wins<br />

under Knox were the only postseason wins<br />

in club history until 2005. Knox was named<br />

KNOX’S NFL RECORD<br />

NFL Coach of the Year following both the<br />

1983 and 1984 seasons, where Seattle posted<br />

a 21-11 record, advanced to the 1983 AFC<br />

Championship Game and in 1984 posted the<br />

best record in franchise history at the time<br />

with a 12-4 mark. One of the NFL’s all-time<br />

winningest coaches, Knox ranks eighth in<br />

league history with 193 career victories (193-<br />

158), including playoffs. He was the first<br />

coach in NFL history to lead three different<br />

franchises to the playoffs and was named<br />

NFL Coach of the Year four times while<br />

coaching three different teams (L.A. Rams-<br />

1973, Bills-1980, <strong>Seahawks</strong>-1983-84).<br />
