Jacob Green became the second <strong>Seahawks</strong><br />

defensive player to be inducted into the Ring<br />

of Honor on September 3, 1995. Green was a<br />

fixture at the left defensive end position for<br />

11 years (1980-1991). From the time the NFL<br />

made it an official statistic in 1982 until his<br />

retirement, Jacob was the third-most productive<br />

sack artist in the game, trailing only<br />

the likes of Lawrence Taylor and Reggie<br />

White. In 1983, Green registered a singlegame<br />

<strong>Seahawks</strong> record 3.5 sacks against the<br />

Los Angeles Raiders, and the NFL's longest<br />

interception return for the season, a 73-yard<br />

recoveries and registered a then-playoff<br />

record 2.5 sacks in a Wild Card game against<br />

the Los Angeles Raiders. Jacob’s career was<br />

highlighted by two Pro Bowl selections in<br />

1986 and 1987. In ‘86, he set a Seattle record<br />

with 4.0 sacks vs. the Giants. Green can be<br />

found scattered all over the <strong>Seahawks</strong>’<br />

record book having played in the third-most<br />
