GAME 10 Minnesota Vikings 35, Seattle Seahawks 9
Sunday, November 22, 2009 — Mall of America Field
The Seahawks, on the road for the second of three consecutive games, succumbed to the Minnesota
Vikings 35-9. Seattle held the Vikings scoreless in the first period ending a Minnesota streak of scoring in
11 consecutive quarters. However, the Vikings offense got on track in the second quarter scoring 21 points
behind three Brett Favre TD passes to take a 21-0 halftime lead. Seattle could only muster two first downs
and ran only 19 plays before the break. After another Favre TD passing the third quarter, Seattle got on the
board with a 40-yard Olindo Mare field goal. Tavaris Jackson replaced Favre at quarterback in the fourth
quarter for the Vikings and he found Sidney Rice for a 34-yard TD toss to take a 35-3 lead. Justin Forsett,
who had 80 yards on eight receptions, ran in from 1-yard out for Seattle’s only score midway through the
fourth quarter for a 35-9 final (2-pt failed). In the game, Matt Hasselbeck became Seattle’s career leader in
pass attempts passing Dave Krieg. David Hawthorne led Seattle’s defense with 15 tackles. Seattle limited
Minnesota’s Adrian Peterson to a modest 3.4 average on 24 attempts; however, the Vikings defense limited
Seattle to four total rushing yards, the lowest total in franchise history.
