Seahawks alumni continue to
make their mark off the playing
field by making various
appearances year after year.
After giving their heart and
soul during their playing
days with the Sea hawks and
the National Football
League, they continue that drive
and urgency off the field well after their
professional playing days are over.
Seahawks alumni in the state of
Washington made over 150 appearances
in 2009. Those visits ranged from community
celebrations to check presentations
and everything in between.
Former players like Charle Young, (TE,
1983-85), Sam Adkins (QB, 1977-82), Blair
Bush (C, 1983-88), Randall Morris (RB,
1984-88), and Manu Tuiasosopo (DT, 1979-
83) all participated in community events
that left lasting impressions on everyone
involved.
Seahawks alumni are also successful
in business and politics as well.
Steve Largent (WR, 1976-89) is the
lone Seahawks player in the NFL Hall of
Fame and has made his mark in national
politics as a U.S. Congressman in the 1st
District of the State of Oklahoma. In 2002,
his run for Govenor of Oklahoma was
unsuccessful, but he continues to make a
difference with community organizations.
His 13,089 yards and 100 touchdowns
made him an instant choice for the prestigious
honor in his first year of eligibility.
A TRADITION CONTINUES
KEEPING THE SEAHAWKS LEGACY ALIVE
He is in the Seahawks Ring of
Honor (1989) and was inducted
into the Wash ington Sports
Hall of Fame.
Seahawks Ring of Honor
inductee Jacob Green, (DE,
1980-91), gives back to the
community year in and year out.
Green, the Seahawks’ all-time sack
leader with 116.0, is the celebrity host of
a golf outing each year. The Jacob Green
Charity Golf Classic benefits the Fred
Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and
has raised over a million dollars since
1988.
Steve Raible (WR, 1976-81) an original
member of the Seahawks, now enters his
29th season broadcasting Seahawks
games for KIRO Radio.
Kenny Easley (S, 1981-87) is the former
owner of the Norfolk Nighthawks, an
Arena Football League team in Virginia.
His three interceptions versus the San
Diego Chargers in October 1984 still ties a
Seahawks record. In 2002, Easley became
only the sixth player to be inducted into
the Seahawks Ring of Honor.
