Named offensive coordinator on February 4,<br />

<strong>2010</strong>, Bates enters his eighth season in the NFL<br />

after a one-year stint as Pete Carroll’s assistant<br />

head coach of the offense/quarterbacks coach<br />

at USC.<br />

Bates handled the Denver Broncos quarterbacks<br />

in 2008, when he called plays for the<br />

NFL’s No. 2 offense and helped Jay Cutler reach<br />

the Pro Bowl. Cutler established single-season<br />

team highs in completions (384), attempts<br />

(616), yards (4,526, 1st AFC, 3rd NFL) and most<br />

300-yard games (8).<br />

He worked with their quarterbacks and wide<br />

receivers in 2007 and was an offensive assistant<br />

in 2006, working primarily with the offensive<br />

line.<br />

He began his coaching career with the<br />

Tampa Bay Buccaneers, serving as the offensive<br />

quality control coach for two years (2002-<br />

03), then becoming the Buccaneers assistant<br />

quarterback coach in 2004. Tampa Bay won<br />

Super Bowl XXXVII in 2002. He was the New<br />

York Jets' quarterbacks coach in 2005.<br />

Bates lettered at quarterback at both<br />

Tennessee (1995) and Rice (1997 and 1999). He<br />

also played baseball at Rice. He received his<br />

bachelor’s degree from Rice in 1999 after<br />

attending Sevier County High in Sevierville,<br />

Tenn.<br />

His father, Jim, is a long-time NFL and college<br />

assistant coach, including many years as a<br />

Named defensive coordinator on January 12,<br />

2009, Bradley joined Seattle after spending three<br />

years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, serving<br />

the last two as linebackers coach after joining the<br />

Bucs in 2006 as their defensive quality control<br />

coach.<br />
