The focus of the Legal FA was on providing templates for<br />
contracts and documents to various FAs, their legal vetting,<br />
taking care of compliance issues, protecting the OC CWG<br />
Delhi 2010’s Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) through<br />
the expedited registration process of Trade Marks and<br />
Copyrights, as also through Legal proceedings to prevent the<br />
unauthorised use of IPRs, ambush marketing and counterfeit<br />
merchandising, etc. A total of 337 contracts were drafted/<br />
reviewed/legally vetted till the <strong>Games</strong>. In the period between<br />
June, 2009 and October 2010, the Legal FA issued 86 “Cease<br />
and Desist Notices”, obtained two Orders from the Hon’ble<br />
High Court of Delhi against a total of nine infringements of<br />
counterfeit merchandising, unauthorised use of IPRs, etc.<br />
The Legal FA successfully brought proceedings with the<br />
World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in respect<br />
