2010 Delhi in New Delhi<br />

The IOA, in its Annual General Meeting held on 1 November<br />

2004, elected President, IOA, as the Chairman of the OC<br />

CWG Delhi 2010, and authorised him to finalise the OC<br />

CWG Delhi 2010 and its Executive Board. This was ratified<br />

by the Government.<br />

Key Stakeholders<br />

GoI: The Government of India, the sovereign government<br />

of the host country, supported the <strong>Games</strong> since the initial bid<br />

stage. It committed to ensure adequate funds for the conduct<br />

of the <strong>Games</strong> to the OC CWG Delhi 2010 as well as for<br />

the development of the required infrastructure to various<br />

agencies. MoYAS was responsible, along with the Sports<br />

Authority of India (SAI) and the National Sports <strong>Federation</strong>s,<br />

for the preparation of the Indian contingent for Delhi 2010.<br />

CGF: The CGF, as the supreme authority in regards to<br />

the conduct of the <strong>Commonwealth</strong> <strong>Games</strong>, helped facilitate<br />

the preparation and conduct of Delhi 2010, and also aided<br />

cooperation and collaboration with international sports<br />

federations and CGAs. The CGF also delegated overall<br />

responsibility for the <strong>Games</strong> and the delivery of India’s<br />

obligations under the Host City Contract to the IOA, which<br />

empowered the OC CWG Delhi 2010 to do so. The CGF was<br />

involved in every stage of Delhi 2010 to ensure cooperation<br />

from participating CGAs.<br />

IOA: The IOA, as the nodal body in charge of Olympic sport<br />

preparation and participation in India, was a leading stakeholder.<br />

It was responsible for spearheading Delhi’s bid and facilitated<br />

cooperation from various national sport federations.<br />
