Delhi Development Authority (DDA).<br />

* Development of the <strong>Games</strong> Village through DDA: The<br />

Residential Zone was developed by DDA in a public<br />

private partnership agreement mode. The 34 towers<br />

and 1,168 flats of the Residential Zone which housed<br />

the athletes during <strong>Games</strong> Time were furnished by India<br />

Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC). Facilities<br />

such as the Training Area, International Zone, Transport<br />

Mall, etc., were developed by DDA itself. The delays in<br />

the completion and handing over of the <strong>Games</strong> Village<br />

by DDA led to the deployment of a taskforce to make<br />

the Village fit for occupation.<br />

* Construction of some flyovers in key locations through<br />

DDA.<br />

* Construction of flats in Vasant Kunj and Jasola through<br />

DDA: These flats were to be used to accommodate<br />

tourists and Technical Officials during <strong>Games</strong> Time;<br />

approximately 770 were delivered for the <strong>Games</strong>.<br />

comprehensive closed circuit television (CCTV) and<br />

electronic surveillance system at all venues through<br />

ECIL.<br />

• Ministry of Tourism<br />

Responsible for:<br />

* Making available 30,000 additional hotel rooms in Delhi<br />

to accommodate the 1,00,000 visitors expected during<br />

the <strong>Games</strong>.<br />

* Augmentation of room availability through DDA flats in<br />

Vasant Kunj, furnished and fitted by ITDC, where 671<br />

<strong>Games</strong> officials were accommodated.<br />

• Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)<br />

Responsible for:<br />

* Security and law and order associated with Delhi 2010:<br />

MHA was the nodal ministry for Delhi 2010 security,<br />

and law and order. It drew up a Comprehensive and<br />

Integrated Security Plan, which was approved and<br />

supervised by the Empowered Security Committee<br />

headed by the Home Secretary. MHA also installed a<br />
