SECURITY<br />
• Ensure the travel agent provides assistance and advice<br />
for best travel connections and options for each sector, is<br />
available 24 hours especially for communication purposes,<br />
and also provides assistance and coordinates the visa<br />
process and correct luggage allowance information<br />
• Considering the stringent weight restrictions on airlines,<br />
it would be necessary to reduce the number of standees,<br />
if any, and other equipment<br />
• Ensure prominent branding on all luggage items for proper<br />
identification<br />
• Ensure that an asset protection person is part of the team<br />
to keep watch on the baton and accessories<br />
• Ensure that a Rest Overnight office is set up at every<br />
overnight location which acts as a central meeting point<br />
where all relevant information, such as departure time,<br />
next location, is shared with crew members<br />
Safety for the <strong>Commonwealth</strong> <strong>Games</strong> was of prime<br />
importance to the OC CWG Delhi 2010 and all its<br />
stakeholders. Delhi Police was responsible for this and<br />
provided fool-proof security during the <strong>Games</strong>. MHA, GoI,<br />
provided national level coordination for all security related<br />
issues. The Security FA coordinated with stakeholders, that<br />
is, MHA, Delhi Police and GNCTD, was responsible for the<br />
coordination of safety of the <strong>Games</strong>, including accreditation,<br />
access control, disaster control, threat management and<br />
security of all venues and the <strong>Games</strong> Village. The FA also<br />
managed the support areas used by security staff, such as<br />
command centre, access control and holding/interview room<br />
to provide safe environment for athletes, officials, VIPs, media,<br />
OC CWG Delhi 2010 staff/volunteers, marketing partners<br />
and spectators.<br />
During <strong>Games</strong> Time, the FA executed the following:<br />
• Performed security lock in for all venues and <strong>Games</strong><br />
Village and activated all security arrangements<br />
• Arranged event-wise security cover for transit of athletes<br />
and team officials at all times<br />
• Integrated all OC CWG Delhi 2010 Security and Venue<br />
Operations plan with Delhi Police<br />
• Integrated the Venue Administrators with Venue Commanders<br />
and with venue teams during the move-in process.<br />
