Thyagaraj Sports Complex<br />

Seating Capacity: 5,823 (Indoor)<br />

and 1,000 (Grand Stand)<br />

The Thyagaraj Sports Complex was the competition and<br />

training venue for Netball. It is a centrally air-conditioned<br />

indoor stadium with two practice courts and one show<br />

court for Netball.<br />

The practice and show courts have maple wood flooring<br />

and the 8 x 400 m synthetic track is International Association<br />

of Athletics <strong>Federation</strong>s approved. It is India’s first green<br />

stadium with 2.5 MW gas turbine power generation, 1 MW<br />

solar power generation, the use of fully non-combustible<br />

composite aluminum panels and fly ash bricks, rainwater<br />

harvesting, waste water recycling and cavity walls for insulation<br />

and acoustics.<br />

The floor wise facilities include:<br />

• Basement: Car parking for 450 vehicles<br />

• Ground Floor (Plaza Level): One show court and two<br />

practice courts, athletes’ lounge, change rooms, lockers,<br />

technical officers lounge, medical & physiotherapy, doping<br />

control, logistics, cafeteria, venue management, stores and<br />

spectator seating, etc.<br />

• First Floor (Concourse Level): Spectator seating,<br />

merchandise, lounge, spectator concourse and external<br />

concourse.<br />

• Second Floor Level (Upper Level): Media centre, <strong>Games</strong><br />

Family lounge, <strong>Games</strong> family seating and VIP seating.<br />
