from creating memos and concept mapping the categories using mind maps to answer
questions about the relationships between categories. This process of looking for
relationships led to the generation of the grounded theory. The emergent grounded
theory was then considered in relation to wider theoretical concepts of social inclusion
to establish the significance of the theory within a societal context. Figure C offers a
visual summary of constructing the grounded theory through constant comparison,
interpretation of which must also consider the non-linear conceptualization of
