3. This study helps to give voice to a small population of young people who use
AAC but future research must look more closely at the other parts of the
jigsaw to give a fuller picture of the issues alluded to within this research
which affect the achievement of the desired goal. There is evidence that
supporting people with complex communication needs to digitally engage
presents many challenges for different actors, especially personal staff.
Investigating factors for training and policy development is suggested as
collaborative practice is putting personal staff into novel positions in terms of
