(Men) halfway back, court sanctioned, residential program. Alternative to incarceration<br />

placement at sentencing or revocation. Behavior modification focused program with drug<br />

testing, individual and group counseling, drug treatment, employment counseling, humor<br />

therapy, case management, and educational social outings. New residents have a 15-day<br />

in-house quarantine period before eligible to participant in outside activities (work,<br />

school, recreation). Placement can be Court ordered or referred by CSOSA, PSA, or<br />

USPC agent. Average stay 60 days, maximum 120 days.<br />

CSOSA CSS is organized into nine branches, each of which serves specialized functions<br />

and populations:<br />

Branch I - Investigations, Diagnostics, and Evaluations<br />

Prepares pre-sentence investigations/reports (PSI/PSR), and special Court-ordered<br />

investigations on individuals awaiting sentencing and/or case dispositions. Also<br />

prepares post-sentence investigations on all felony cases in which a term of<br />

confinement is imposed and the Court, prior to sentencing, did not order a PSR.<br />

Transitional Intervention for Parole Supervision (TIPS) prepares parole supervision<br />

plans for those placed in Residential Reentry Centers (RRCs/halfway houses) while<br />

transitioning from prison to community. TIPS also investigates and verifies the<br />
