(16-19 yrs) who have dropped out of high school. 22-week residential program at<br />
site of former Oak Hill, Laurel, MD, followed by 12-month Post Residential Action<br />
Plan where youth reside in the community while pursuing career options. Classes<br />
start in January and June. Academic enrichment, GED preparation, character<br />
building and leadership development, job skills training, physical fitness training.<br />
Program administered by DC National Guardsman and private contract educators.<br />
Graduates are equipped to join the work force, the military or continue their<br />
education upon completion of the program. No obligation to enlist in the military,<br />
approximately .07% of graduates join the military. Eligibility: DC resident, no<br />
felony adjudications, high school drop-out, substance free, voluntarily enroll (can<br />
not be court ordered). Program provides all needs food, clothing, board,<br />
transportation. No cost, no stipends.<br />
