Parent Education and Support<br />
Parenting education classes and individual<br />
counseling. Offered in three curriculums,<br />
Effective Black Parenting (15 sessions 2 x week)<br />
Common Sense Parenting (6 sessions, 1 x week)<br />
Chicago Parenting Program (multi-cultural<br />
approach to parenting) Each session offers:<br />
Anger management, financial literacy, domestic<br />
abuse, inappropriate sexual contact. Individual<br />
counseling is available to address more private<br />
issues.<br />
Full family services: Parenting (referrals) health<br />
care, job training & employment, child care<br />
nutrition, alcohol & drug counseling, specialized<br />
programs include intensive case management for<br />
pregnant women or families with children under<br />
5. Must be already receiving services with<br />
Mazique Center. Spanish<br />
Parenting classes: Individual, group and family<br />
counseling, self-esteem, pride in racial and ethnic<br />
heritage, self-discipline and love and<br />
understanding. Fees apply.<br />
Parenting and pre-natal education for Spanish<br />
speaking pregnant women and families with<br />
children under 3, comprehensive support<br />
services: Emergency food, diapers, meals for<br />
participants, parenting education, counseling.<br />
Classes Wed 10am to 11:30am<br />
Spanish speakers only<br />
Home visitations (1 st time parents) partnering<br />
with families, parenting classes and support<br />
groups, child development, family life skills,<br />
vocational training, and recreational activities.<br />
Spiritual based parenting courses for parents and<br />
childcare providers. Third Saturday of each<br />
month 11am to 1pm. Course fee: $35 (books)<br />
