Indicator Description Data The Royal Devon
and Exeter NHS
Foundation Trust
considers that this
data/percentage is
as described for the
following reasons
18. The data made
available to the
National Health Service
Trust or NHS Foundation
Trust by the Health and
Social Care Information
Centre with regard
to the Trust's patient
reported outcome
surgery, during
the reporting
period.
19. The data made
available to the
National Health Service
trust or NHS Foundation
Trust by the Health and
Social Care Information
Centre with regard
to the percentage of
patients aged –
(i) 0 to 14; and
(ii) 15 or over,
readmitted to a hospital
which forms part of the
Trust within 28 days of
being discharged from
a hospital which forms
part of the Trust during
the reporting period.
2009/10 - 9.69% (National 11.16%)
2008/09 - 9.16% (National 10.90%)
Results for varicose
vein surgery are low
due to the small
number of procedures
undertaken within the
Trust. It is not possible
to correlate the figures
for groin hernia surgery
and hip replacement
surgery during Apr-12
to Sep-12 against the
previous 2 year period
due to the fact that
it is for a 6 month
period only. The data
for knee replacement
surgery requires further
investigation due to
the fact that the Trust
has submitted 256
proformas during the
time period, which
appear not to be
showing.
1. Numbers (better
than) national
performance.
2. Increase broadly in
line with national trend.
The Royal Devon
and Exeter NHS
Foundation Trust
intends to take/has
taken the following
actions to improve the
indicator (percentage/
proportion), and so the
quality of its services
The Engagement and
Experience Committee,
on behalf of the
Governance Committee
will continue to actively
monitor this performance
and take action as
appropriate.
Performance against this
indicator will be managed
through the patient
pathway improvement
programme which reports
to the Transformation
Programme Board.
