105
Plans for the coming year include:
• An extension of the Governor
recruitment sessions within the
hospital to Medical Outpatients
and within the community
to a local supermarket and a
Community Health Centre
• To develop a contact with Exeter
College and possibly other
Institutes of Further Education
• An evening event that is designed
to attract members in the under
50s age group
• ‘Members' Say’ combined with the
Patient Quality and
Safety working
group
The Group exists to act as a focal point
for Governors on issues concerning
patient safety and quality. Over the
year the Group has:
• Agreed how the Group will
be managed and how it will
communicate as well as agreeing
its terms of reference
• Focused on meeting one of its
main tasks - namely contributing a
Governor perspective to the Trust’s
Quality Report and identifying
Governor priorities on quality that
it wanted to see reflected in the
report
• Contributed to the quality part
of the agenda of Governor
Development Days
• Agreeing guidance on the process
that any Governor should use
when they want to inform the
Trust of any quality issues of which
they become aware, either from
contact with members or through
their own experience. Business
cards have also been provided
for all Governors so they can let
members know who they are, and
how to contact the Trust if they
have specific complaints or issues
they want taken up
• Liaising with the Engagement
and Experience Committee
to undertake any relevant
work relating to patient safety
and quality which might be:
commissioned by the Committee;
and/or following on from
Members' Say events or other
surveys.
