Summer 2012
The summer of 2012 was one to
remember for the whole of the
country, as we hosted the Olympics
and marked the Queen’s Diamond
Jubilee. Staff and patients were
involved in both the preparations and
the celebration for our summer of fun.
Queen’s Diamond Jubilee
Being in hospital did not prevent our
patients from being able to join the
national celebrations of the Queen’s
Diamond Jubilee on Tuesday 5 June 2012.
Patients on the Kenn and Bovey wards
at the RD&E Wonford hospital helped
staff make paper chains and bunting in
readiness for the big day. Many of the
people on these wards were around
for the Queen’s coronation and were
able to join the Jubilee celebrations
with a tea party on the ward.
