Public dividend capital ("PDC")<br />

PDC represents the excess of assets over liabilities at the time of establishment of the Trust. It also includes new PDC received to fund capital<br />

expenditure on schemes supported by the Department of Health central capital budgets. PDC has no fixed capital repayment period.<br />

Revaluation reserve<br />

The reserve reflects movements in the value of purchased property, plant <strong>and</strong> equipment <strong>and</strong> intangible assets as set out in the accounting policies.<br />

Income <strong>and</strong> expenditure reserve<br />

The reserve is the cumulative surplus / (deficit) made by the Trust since its inception. It is held in perpetuity <strong>and</strong> cannot be released to the<br />

Statement of Comprehensive Income.<br />
