9.7 O&M COSTS
This section provides a high-level estimate of the anticipated costs that the City of
Oakland is likely to incur for the operations and management their ITS system over the
next twenty years. Some of the costs will be recurring costs and some of the costs will
be one time costs. An estimate of these costs is provided in Table 9.5. The total cost
provided at the bottom of the table represents the estimated cost for operating and
managing the ITS system for 20 years. The proportion of this cost will become greater
in later years as more equipment is added to the citywide network. All costs are in 2003
dollars.
