Student Feedback & Leadership<br />

The questions asked in the CES have been developed from the Course<br />

Experience Questionnaire (CEQ) managed by Graduate Careers Australia<br />

<strong>and</strong> research into, <strong>and</strong> consultation with, a range of universities regarding<br />

their <strong>feedback</strong> instruments. They are designed to measure various items<br />

related to the <strong>student</strong> learning experience including:<br />

Quality of the teaching <strong>and</strong> learning environment;<br />

<strong>Learning</strong> objectives;<br />

––<br />

Clarity of goals;<br />

Assessment – workload;<br />

<strong>Learning</strong> resources;<br />

––<br />

Balance of theory/instruction <strong>and</strong> practice;<br />

––<br />

Course interest;<br />

––<br />

Online – computer based material;<br />

––<br />

Overall <strong>student</strong> satisfaction.<br />

The Policy states that <strong>student</strong> <strong>feedback</strong> is the responsibility of all staff<br />

at RMIT who engage with, <strong>and</strong> respond to, <strong>student</strong> <strong>feedback</strong> <strong>and</strong> that<br />

<strong>student</strong> <strong>feedback</strong> will be used to improve the provision of learning<br />

resources, facilities, equipment <strong>and</strong> services through the development<br />

of annual improvement plans.<br />

The <strong>for</strong>mal accountability <strong>and</strong> responsibility <strong>for</strong> the quality, review, managment,<br />

<strong>and</strong> legal requirements of the use of <strong>student</strong> <strong>feedback</strong> is devolved within<br />

the organisational structure of the university, from Deputy Vice Chancellor<br />

(Academic) <strong>and</strong> Academic Pro-Vice Chancellors to Heads of Schools,<br />

Discipline <strong>and</strong> Program Leaders, <strong>and</strong> Deans of Academic Development.<br />

Directors of <strong>Learning</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Teaching</strong>, Student Services, <strong>and</strong> Educational<br />

Development staff who provide support services.<br />
