<strong>ICMCTF</strong> <strong>2012</strong> Short Courses<br />

April 22 – 26, <strong>2012</strong>, Sunday – Thursday<br />

Five Short Courses are being presented by leading experts in their respective fields:<br />

Sunday, April 22: Ionized PVD: From Arcs to HIPIMS, André Anders, LBNL, Berkeley, CA<br />

Monday, April 23: Thin Film Nucleation, Growth, and Microstructure Evolution, Joe Greene, University of Illinois, IL<br />

Tuesday, April 24 Nanomechanical Assessment of Thin Films and <strong>Coating</strong>s, Steve Bull, Newcastle University, UK<br />

Wednesday, April 25: Advanced Thin Film Characterization, Ivan Petrov, University of Illinois, IL<br />

Thursday, April 26: Reactive Sputtering Deposition: Mechanisms and Operation, Joe Greene, University of Illinois, IL<br />

Courses are one day from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Each of the of the four courses cost $480 per participant and $125 per graduate<br />

student. A $200 discount is granted if three courses at $480 are taken. For all courses, extensive course notes will be provided.<br />

ATTENDEE ROOM<br />

The Devonshire Room in the hotel’s Executive Conference Center (the old Meeting House) has<br />

been set aside as a “no-host” gathering room during the <strong>ICMCTF</strong> <strong>2012</strong>. The room will provide<br />

space for attendees to mingle with exhibitors, family members and companions.<br />

We hope you enjoy the Conference, and take some time to experience the attractions of San Diego.<br />

USE OF VIDEO EQUIPMENT PROHIBITED<br />

The use of video recording equipment, cameras, cell phone cameras, or audio equipment is prohibited<br />

at any AVS Symposium, Short Course, or Topical Conference without prior written approval<br />

of the Society. The Society reserves the right to reproduce, by any means selected, any or all of<br />

these presentations and materials.<br />

REMINDER: Please turn off CELL PHONES and PAGERS when you are attending Technical<br />

Sessions.<br />
