OF PAGES: 3MONROECOUNTYSHERIFF’SOFFICECHAPTER: AdministrativeTOPIC:Specialized Training_____________________Sheriff of <strong>Monroe</strong> <strong>County</strong>PURPOSE:The purpose of this directive is to establishpolicy for the <strong>Monroe</strong> <strong>County</strong> Detention Facilitiesthat all Training Deputies will be responsible forthe coordination, implementation, and teaching(if necessary) of educational and training needsfor all of the specialized units within the scope ofthe Bureau. These Training Deputies will alsoensure that the pertinent records of such trainingare maintained.SCOPE:This directive applies to all employees.PERSON RESPONSIBLE:Training Deputies.POLICY AND PROCEDURES:Fire Emergency Response (All Staff) [FCAC22.03]This Training Deputy will coordinate the trainingof all members who are responsible forassignments during a fire emergency. Allmembers will be trained to a minimum standardwith the knowledge required to safely completetheir assigned tasks as set by the regulatingagencies that govern the facilities. This willrequire this post holder to have a knowledge oraccess to all of the fire plans for each post.This Training Deputy will assist in the training ofall post holders in the regular training and reviewthe procedures that the post holders need toremain proficient. Records of this training andreviews will be maintained by the TrainingDeputy.Field Training <strong>Office</strong>r (FTO) ProgramAll new Detention Deputies will receive aminimum of 120 hours of training during theirfirst year of employment. Between the FTOprogram, orientation, and direct supervision wemeet the 120 hour requirement.
