All significant events occurring during extra-dutyassignments shall be documented andforwarded as soon as possible to the OperationsCommander.USM DetailsEmployees working USM details mustremember that they are representing the <strong>Monroe</strong><strong>County</strong> <strong>Sheriff's</strong> <strong>Office</strong> and shall dress and actaccordingly. Employees must adhere to allcurrent policies and procedures. [FCAC 4.19c]The Operations Commander's Assistant is thepoint of coordination for USM details. To apply,you must contact the Operations Commander'sAssistant and request that your name be addedto the list of qualified deputies. [FCAC 4.19e]You must prove you are firearms qualified byproviding a copy of your firearm qualificationcard. You must also meet all requirementslisted under USM Detail Requirements listedabove in this policy. You will be contacted if adetail becomes available and it is on your dayoff. You may choose to work the detail or todecline to work it. [FCAC 4.19b]Approval, Review, and Revocation Process forUSM Details [FCAC 4.19d]If for any reason you do not wish to remain onthe USM Marshal call list, just contact theOperations Commander's Assistant and ask tohave your name removed.If anything happens out of the ordinary duringyour USM Marshal detail, you shall contact theMarshal that you are working with and advisehim/her of the situation. You shall alsodocument all significant events and turn thereport into the Operations Commander as soonas possible after completing your detail. [FCAC4.19c&f]Other Off-Duty DetailsThere may be other off-duty details that arisefrom time-to-time. These details shall bereviewed and approved by the Major of theBureau of Corrections. Most of these details willbe watching trusties on work details for nonprofitorganizations. The Major of the Bureau ofCorrections shall determine the necessaryqualifications for these details on a case-by-casebasis. The Major of the Bureau of Correctionsreserves the right to deny a deputy'sparticipation in off-duty details if the detail and/orthe Deputy's qualifications fall outside theparameters of this policy.The Operations Commander's Assistant isresponsible for approving, reviewing, andrevocating USM details according to theUSM Detail Requirements listed above inthis policy. If a deputy's qualificationschange after approval, that Deputy'sapproval status will be revoked.The Operations Commander may decide totemporarily revoke a deputy's eligibility afterreview of a deputy's performance or as aresult of an Internal Affairs investigation.
