If an inmate has no money at the time the fee ischarged, the account will be debited for theamount due and the account will carry anegative balance until monies are deposited intothe inmate's individual account. If the inmate atany time receives any monies, then a portion ofthe negative account will be satisfied before anycommissary can be purchased.If an inmate's individual account does notcontain sufficient funds to cover the processingfee, then a civil restitution lien may be placedagainst the inmate's individual account or otherproperty. The civil lien, if instituted, maycontinue for three (3) years and applies to theindividual account of any inmate who isreincarcerated in a <strong>Monroe</strong> <strong>County</strong> DetentionFacility.Priorities for Inmate's Individual FundsThe use of each inmate's individual accountfunds will be in the following order of priority:Any court judgements (e.g., child support)To make bondPayment of the processing feePayment of medical feesCommissary purchasesBOC - 1:030 Date of Original: 4/16/01 2Previous Revision Date(s): 1/10/08Dissemination Date: 8/15/11 Effective Date: 8/22/11
