Role <strong>of</strong> the facility in national policy.1.1 Is the <strong>use</strong> <strong>of</strong> peat a necessary part <strong>of</strong> national energy policy1.2 Is the <strong>use</strong> <strong>of</strong> peat a part <strong>of</strong> national socio-economic policy2. Type <strong>of</strong> <strong>mires</strong> which supply the facility2.1 Within the country, are the <strong>mires</strong> <strong>and</strong> peatl<strong>and</strong>s from which peat is extracted rare,are any <strong>of</strong> their inhabiting species rare, <strong>and</strong> are the functions affected rare2.2 Are similar <strong>mires</strong> <strong>and</strong> peatl<strong>and</strong>s to those <strong>use</strong>d for supply decreasing in abundanceor not <strong>and</strong> are similar <strong>mires</strong> <strong>and</strong>/or peatl<strong>and</strong>s in the country sufficiently protected2.3 Are there any alternative sustainable resources available2.4 Is any <strong>of</strong> the peat extracted from protected sites3.
