<strong>Crime</strong> & Criminals Tracking Network and Systems ProjectNagaland PoliceLaw & Order Maintenance, Investigation, <strong>Crime</strong> Prevention, and Traffic Management are corecomponents of policing work. Information technology can both enable and improve theeffectiveness and efficiency of the core activities of the police. Police should be provided with dataamenable for easier and faster analysis in order to enable them to make better and informeddecisions.iv. Increase Operational EfficiencyPolice should spend more time on the public facing functions. Information technology solutionsshould help in reducing the repetitive paperwork/records and making the back-office functionsmore efficient.v. Create a platform for sharing crime & criminal information across the countryThere is a critical need to create a platform for sharing crime and criminal information acrosspolice stations within and between the different states in order to increase the effectiveness indealing with criminals across the state borders.vi. Eliminating Drudgery from Police SystemInstitutionalization of a platform to share information seamlessly with other states and otherdepartments would rely on the central repository of information regarding crime and criminals.This central repository would be a step-stone towards efficient policing by reducing drudgery fromthe system and allowing police to spend more time in activities related to crime prevention andcrime investigation.3.3 Stakeholders of ProjectThe impact of the police subject being sensitive, a consultative and a bottom-up approach has to beadopted in designing the MMP impacting the following stakeholders:• Citizens/ Citizens groups (People of Nagaland , Other citizens of India & Foreignnationals)• MHA/NCRB/Others• State Police department, CID, CBI, etc.• Employees of Nagaland Police• External Departments of the State such as Jails, Courts, Passport Office, TransportDepartment and Hospitals etc.• Non-Government/Private sector organizations<strong>Volume</strong> I Request for Proposal for Selection of System Integrator Page 12 of 193
