All entered data is stored here, and used for reportgeneration and application functioning. These databases are alsointerconnected to enable data access by multiple applications.4 ApplicationPortfolio5 ChannelManagementThe application portfolio is the basket of all applications that are part of CAS(State). As shown in the diagram, this constitutes all the functionalities thatthe CAS is to perform, and has the business logic for the software. This layerencompasses all the applications that have been built in by the NCRB at thecentre, as well as the proposed new modules like Training management,Inventory management etc that would be built at the State by the <strong>SI</strong>.All the service delivery channels will need information and standardization ofdata and information wrt <strong>CCTNS</strong> related data. This should essentially consistof the following sub components viz.:• Content Management - Essentially consisting of Content Creation,Content Management. Publishing and Presentation• Content Personalization - Personalized content is content whichmatches a particular context, generally around a user. It takes intoaccount information contained in the context to correctly generatesearch queries, which will retrieve the content most appropriate tothe context.• Process Engine - The business processes would be translated intoBPM working using business process management notations(BPMN), which is modeled in the process modeler and activities aremapped to the services. The process modeler converts the modelinto a XML file called that is also known as business processexecution language (BPEL). The BPM workflow engine interprets theactivities in the workflow and attaches it to the services in the servicebroker.• Business Rules Engine - The business rules of the workflowsmodeled on in the process engine is stored in a common repository.• Integration Framework - The integration framework would provideintegration services from various application portfolios that are partof the enterprise architecture.
