Residents <strong>of</strong> <strong>Summerville</strong> would also beable to utilize SC 61 and US 78 as secondary evacuation routes, depending on where in the <strong>Town</strong> they live.<strong>Summerville</strong> Medical CenterThe <strong>Summerville</strong> Medical Center, located onMidland Parkway in the Oakbrook area, is a 94‐bed acute care medical center with a 24‐houremergency room. The Medical Center is part <strong>of</strong>the regional Trident Health System, servingresidents <strong>of</strong> Berkeley, Dorchester, andnorthwestern Charleston counties. In late2010, Trident Health System applied to theSouth Carolina Department <strong>of</strong> Health andEnvironmental Control (DHEC) to expand theMedical Center by 30 beds as part <strong>of</strong> a $26million expansion <strong>of</strong> the complex.
