District 2 is comprised of 22 schools, including 11elementary schools, 6 middle schools, 3 high schools, an alternative program for students in grades 6through 12, and an adult/community education program that serves residents from pre‐school agethrough adulthood. District 2 is also the second largest employer in Dorchester County.In addition, because of Summerville’s location in the metro Charleston region, a portion of Summerville’sresidents attend school in Berkeley and Charleston counties.
