2012 BUDGETMetropolitan Washington Airports AuthorityThe amount shown with the project description is the total current cost estimate <strong>for</strong> theproject.RONALD REAGAN WASHINGTON NATIONAL AIRPORTRoadsExpansion Joint Replacement, $640,000. Failure of expansion joint material compromisesthe structural integrity of the concrete decks <strong>and</strong> allows the infiltration of water <strong>and</strong> otherdebris to fall to the lower levels. This multi-year project will replace expansion jointsthroughout Garages A, B <strong>and</strong> C.Bridge Pan Deck Repair, $500,000. Project replaces damaged sections of the Terminal B/Cbridge pan deck <strong>and</strong> replaces expansion joint. Water <strong>and</strong> chemical infiltration due to failingexpansion joints have oxidized portions of the bridge pan deck. Failure to make thenecessary repairs could compromise the integrity of the deck <strong>and</strong> allow <strong>for</strong> the infiltration ofwater <strong>and</strong> other debris to fall below.Replace Old Street Light Poles, $400,000. This project <strong>funds</strong> <strong>for</strong> phase II of a multi-yearproject to replace deteriorating street light poles <strong>and</strong> foundations at various locations on theairport. The metal bases have deteriorated over time due to weathering <strong>and</strong> winter chemicaltreatments. Due to the current condition of these metal bases MA-120 has removed someunits to ensure the safety of the traveling public.Economy Lot Rehab/Satellite Lot Demo, $150,000. This project <strong>funds</strong> <strong>for</strong> asphalt pavementrepairs in the Economy Lot <strong>and</strong> the demolition of the Satellite lot as directed by the FAA. TheSatellite lot was constructed to h<strong>and</strong>le overflow due to the construction of the decks atGarages A, B, & C. With garage expansion now complete, above-ground features of thesatellite lot must be removed.BuildingsTerminal B/C Structural Paint $1,000,000. The metal components of Terminal B/C arebeginning to show signs of rust due to weathering. This project will continue a multi-yearprogram to paint the exterior surfaces of the terminal. Terminal B/C is approximately 15years old <strong>and</strong> major corrosion prevention <strong>and</strong> control ef<strong>for</strong>ts are now routinely required.West Building Mechanical & Electrical Modifications, $500,000. This project supports thenecessary infrastructure rehabilitation in the West Building. The work includes therehabilitation of the air-conditioning system; replace deteriorated roofing, <strong>and</strong> making otheressential repairs to extend the useful life of the building by approximately 10 years.Fixed Cameras at Blue Doors Access to AOA, $518,000. Various doors that have directaccess to the AOA will have security cameras installed.120
