SoundBlaster type computer cards have more than one <strong>MIDI</strong> driver. The systemwill usually default to the driver for the built-in synth on the card, rather than thee<strong>xt</strong>ernal <strong>MIDI</strong> port. This means that you must select the correct driver before thesoftware can see the <strong>Bass</strong> <strong>POD</strong>XT <strong>Live</strong>.2. <strong>MIDI</strong> cables must run from out to in and vice versa—connect <strong>Bass</strong> <strong>POD</strong>XT <strong>Live</strong>’s<strong>MIDI</strong> In to your computer’s <strong>MIDI</strong> Out. Think of it in terms of the direction thatinformation is flowing; out of <strong>Bass</strong> <strong>POD</strong>XT <strong>Live</strong> in to the computer. Out of thecomputer in to <strong>Bass</strong> <strong>POD</strong>XT <strong>Live</strong>.3. For non-SysEx communication, your <strong>Bass</strong> <strong>POD</strong>XT <strong>Live</strong> and your <strong>MIDI</strong> software/hardware must be set to use the same <strong>MIDI</strong> Channel. If you’ve got <strong>Bass</strong> <strong>POD</strong>XT<strong>Live</strong> on channel 1, set your other device or software to channel 1 so they cancommunicate. You can also set <strong>Bass</strong> <strong>POD</strong>XT <strong>Live</strong>’s <strong>MIDI</strong> Channel to OMNI, and itwill listen to all channels.
