QUICK START GUIDE • IntroductionAmp, Cab and Effect ModelsThe tone and technology know-how of Line 6 thus comes to you as Amp, Cab andEffect Models based on a collection of gear recognized by guitarists and bassists theworld over as true “tone classics.” These models were tweaked through careful,scientific A/B comparisons to the gear that inspired them, with an ear open for theeffects of different volume levels and settings of the originals’ tone and gaincontrols. The gain and equalization characteristics of the modeled gear werecarefully measured so that changes to knobs on the models would mirror the effectsof these changes on the originals as closely as possible. We’re talkin’ majorattention to detail here. Tone control center frequencies, slopes, and cut/boostrange were painstakingly analyzed, in addition to a whole host of factors unique toeach piece of gear. Not only that, but since many classic amps and effects havehighly interactive circuits, we paid careful attention to the way that the setting ofone knob changes the way that another knob may behave.
