GETTING SET UP • On Stagethe Cabinet Models are revoiced to sound their best coming through the kind ofsetup you choose. The two “with EQ” modes also give you some Tone Correctioncontrols, as shown here:3 • 4The idea of these Tone Correction controls is to adjust Bass PODXT Live’s overallsound to compensate for the tonal response of the preamp section of the amp thatyou’re plugging into. We’ve found that it is often necessary to reduce the lowfrequency or high frequency parts of the Bass PODXT Live to get decent results in thissort of a configuration, or shift the focus of the mid frequencies, so that’s what thesecontrols are set to do. Press the Soft Button 17 below LOWS or HIGHS and twiddlethe EFFECT TWEAK 12 knob to reduce the amount of low or high frequencies thatBass PODXT Live will send out. Use FOCUS to choose which mid frequencies toemphasize.Note: When running Bass PODxt Live into a bass amp (as opposed tostudio monitors or headphones) remember that different speaker/ampcombinations sound wildly different. Consider the name of each DESTchoice as a recommendation only, and experiment with all the options tosee which sounds best for your particular setup.Bass PODXT Live remembers the “What are you connected to?” settings you choose, soyou don’t have to re-set them every time you power up. If you change to a differentsetting when using a different setup, don’t forget to change back to your standardsetting once you get back to your regular setup.Bi-Amp ModeBass PODXT Live includes a Bi-Amp Mode. Bi-Amping is the technique of using acrossover to split a signal into its higher frequency and lower frequency portions, andsending each frequency range to a different amplification system. Lows would typicallybe sent to a power amp setup with lots of wattage and large diameter speakers, whilehighs would be sent to smaller diameter speakers and/or horns. Bass PODXT Live’s Bi-Amp Mode includes selectable slope and frequency.
