A new world was born. Its infantgrowth is causing the evolutionary acceleration expressedin the confusing phenomena of the present, perceptible forthose who, as recommended by the Mother, have developedthe necessary capacity of attention. In the years to come,and up to 1973 when she laid down what she had called“the residue” of her material body, the Mother will takeup the Yoga of corporeal transformation, watched by all,understood by hardly anyone.But our story ends here.We have briefly followed three episodes in the avataricYoga of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. All three illustrateto what extent their superhuman effort was an adventureinto the unknown. Evolution is always a work in progress,and so is the evolutionary Yoga. Those whose souls havebeen made attentive to the true force currents in the world,and who have been called to consciously participate intheir course, will be gifted with the eye that sees the meaningof yesterday, today and tomorrow.
3Preparingfor the MiraculousEvolution, according to Sri Aurobindo and the Mother,is a long and difficult climb of Nature, in the organismsit creates, to regain its original divinity. Therefore humanity,given its imperfection, cannot be the ultimate step orcrown of the evolution. Beyond the human gradation arethe higher worlds and beings humans have always intuitedor dreamed of, and still further beyond are the infinitudesof the Divine. “The animal is a living laboratory in whichNature has, it is said, worked out Man.
