The events of history have neverbeen predictable to <strong>the</strong> human mind. Still less is it capableof discerning <strong>the</strong> trends of our contemporary history and<strong>the</strong>ir possible consequences, now that we are constantlyin<strong>for</strong>med about <strong>the</strong> goings-on in <strong>the</strong> four corners of <strong>the</strong>world. If in <strong>the</strong> present crisis atmosphere we want to findsome solid ground, we must not turn to science but inwardsand find <strong>the</strong>re what is <strong>the</strong> core of our existence, while on <strong>the</strong>outside we must have confidence in “<strong>the</strong> magic of <strong>the</strong> Magician,”inevitably working <strong>for</strong> a new and better world. Fromthis standpoint all history, like all existence and manifestation,is one continuous miracle. This knowledge can helpus to prepare <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> future miracles capable of solving ourglobal problems, miracles which, according to Sri Aurobindoand <strong>the</strong> Mo<strong>the</strong>r, will reveal <strong>the</strong> meaning of it all andare certain to happen.The preparatory workof Sri Aurobindo and <strong>the</strong> Mo<strong>the</strong>rWhat do we, Aurobindians, stand <strong>for</strong>?
